Time to move on

Well it's over, hockey season that is. And it couldn't have ended worse for me. It's bad enough that a Canadian team hasn't won in 19 years but to have the Bs win is just murderous to me. Anyone but them. So it is fitting that since everyone has had a chance since then, it is left up to one team to solve the riddle for Canada. Yes folks the Leafs have to do it!

Do you believe me saying that?

Well I have had enough Leaf fans tell me, hahaha the Habs lost. Yeah you are right they did and I have had to suffer the humility of those defeats, something the Leaf fans, old Leaf nation, doesn't have to suffer through cause they never make the playoffs in the first place. But now it is up to them. And oh yeah, by the way, they will have to defeat the mighty Bruins along the way. The team that they helped build into a champion.

Let's see how they do starting next year.

Gotta feel sorry for the Canucks. It would have been such a story book to have the Stanley Cup and the Gold Medal rest in the lap of Bobby Lou. Somehow they couldn't get it done. Pity. I think the whole nation was on their side. Those that talked, texted or otherwise with me know that I had to sit through the Bruins broadcasts which were manned it seemed by the owner and four former Bruin players. All the camera men were from Massachusetts, etc. I will have you know that they are laughing at Canada. They relish the fact we claim the game but have not hoisted a cup on home soil for that long. And they are gloating now. I heard it all in the post game shows. Not much class in my humble opinion. Oh yeah did I mention to you that I got real humble since I moved to BKK. Listening to the yanks go on and on, you get real humble or real pi&&%#. So humble it is.

Hopefully I can now blog a little more, talk about what is or is not going on here.
I have some more pics to put up through a link that show you some parts of the Adventures of Deedles McBike and her handsome Rugged Adventurer partner. Look here for more of us. Our tour / posting dates are May 2 and 3 ... Bike tour set one and then there are more good ones they didn't want to delete cause they nearly killed Diane and feel sorry for her...... Bike tour set two

Most of the pics were taken by the guide Panida. She shot these over her shoulder while riding the treacherous path of death. Now she does it for a living so maybe she is that much better at it. Our going forward position is we will not recommend this tour. It is only for the best bike riders. And only if these best of the best don't want to see anything. Cause really you don't get much of a chance to look up. Ask any F1 car driver if he saw you in the crowd at turn 6. Answer - No. Why - cause he was too busy making turn 6. Same deal here folks. Especially at Brooks' corner cause rather than a concrete barrier or sand drums they decided to spice it up with barbed wire!

Summer is here as well as where you are. Heat of April and May are behind us. The Thais all laugh now and say "nice day today no humidity". Yeah, its dropped all the way down to 82%, is sooo great. Takes two blocks of walking before you are soaked to the skin instead of one block. Vive la difference!

Back to hockey for a sec. We find out some time next week what the team name in Winnipeg will be. Do they have to put us through this? I once went through something nearly as dumb and it turned out very bad.
I lived in Port Arthur, Ontario. We had a sister city across the Neebing River called Fort William. Premier Davis was on his city amalgamation and regional government gig back when, late 1960s I think. Some will remember the creation of Ottawa-Carleton, Kitchener-Waterloo was attempted but only ended up with a hyphen Galt got sucked into Cambridge and on. In Port Arthur/Fort William we were given the right to name our new city in a referendum. Now some may remember that the area was referred to as the Lakehead (sitting at the top of Lake Superior and end of the St. Lawrence Seaway). While our city fathers got into a mele and had to put three names on the list rather than two.
Both cities are in the District of Thunder Bay, the cities sit on the bay on Lake Superior called.......Thunder Bay, so they all thought this would be a very suitable name and should go on the ballot. Kinda like Montana City, in the county of Montana , in the great state of Montana, makes redundant sense but it does make sense. After all you do have to have a choice.
The other name was as a result of everyday life. The place was called the Lakehead for years by numerous people from one end of Canada to the other. You didn't have to say Port Arthur, easier to say the Lakehead. But the city fathers couldn't decide what to do with the "the" so they put on the ballot Thunder Bay, The Lakehead and Lakehead. Vote was 35% Thunder Bay, The Lakehead 33%, Lakehead 32%. No one figured this out!!!! And since it was a democratic decision, voila. Stupid name. Only vaguely close to what it should have been. One of the reasons I left!
Winnipeg Jets better not be the Winnipeg Thrashers, like wheat, farmers? something stupid like that.

Be a man, do the right thing!

Talk to you all later

Game 6, is it ours again?

So we all know by now that the cup hasn't been in Canada since the 93 Habs.
The Canucks are as close as you can come and feel comfortable. Cause no one is really comfortable with a game seven. And since we have lost all the game sevens for a cup the last little while (Oilers and Flames) I don't want to go there.

I'll be watching real close with Deeds, I think she will try to wrangle a little time off work, or at least go in a little later than normal so she can see this moment.

This is real hockey folks, enjoy.

Canucks up 2

How good does that feel. The Canucks have won two games against the b's. Two devastating wins. Should be soul and heart breakers. We'll see what the b's can do. Win one in beantown so Bobby Lou can win the cup at home. Would be so sweet.

We have MJ, our cross the street neighbour  here with us for a few days. She watched the game with us this morning. Was awesome. Off to do a rice barge river cruise on the Chao Praya River tonight. Good food and a great look at the river of kings.

Enjoy the hockey, could only be a few games left.
